Who is the King of Glory?!
I used to. I didn’t cuss LIKE a sailor, I WAS a sailor. lol. But do i use profanity now, no. America has restricted profanity to a few “four letter words” (I never knew that meant, anyway) But there are multiple ways to be profane that God doesn’t just limit to a couple words or phrases, (although, even in secular society, are profane.) The Bible says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29 and 1st Peter 3:10 declares, “For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.” So do I use profanity now? by the grace of God, no. and the reason is because cussing/swearing/profanity shows forth the condition of the heart, the mind, and the “inner man”, which is shown in out thoughts actions and speech. I don’t want to say anything that would disgrace the name of God, and that does not administer grace to anyone (believer or unbeliever).
James 3:9-12 make it plain & clear: “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water
